Our goal at Language Stars is to provide fun foreign language immersion for children...and their families! We now offer several different ways for families to stay involved in the curriculum, which their children are learning:

• Language Stars is pleased to introduce our new "What I Learned Today" Activity Sheets! We look forward to your feedback as we pilot this exciting new initiative in our Spanish programs this fall! These Actvity Sheets, sent home with your child each week, provide a snapshot of each weekly structure and provide optional reinforcement opportunities for families looking to do more at home. The Big Book of FunImmersion®, a comprehensive educational tool that lays out our curriculum components, provides home activity suggestions, and keeps you abreast of weekly language goals and activities. Click Here to learn more about The Big Book of FunImmersion®.

• The Seasonal Syllabus provides a Week-By-Week Curriculum Summary, highlighting the specific themes, Building Blocks, Learning Goals, songs and sample activities presented each week.  The Syllabus directs you to pages in the Big Book that will give you more detailed information on the week’s language focus, and to the appropriate track on the Around the World with Language Stars music CD, which features the song of the week!  The Syllabus also includes a seasonal calendar, snack list, and notes. All families receive their Seasonal Syllabus on the first day of each season.

Themes: The curriculum at Language Stars is packaged in fun, child-oriented themes. Each theme provides a visual and concrete framework that appeals to a child's imagination. Popular themes include "Dinosaurs," "Pirates," "The Circus," "Outer Space," "Under The Sea"...Within the context of the theme's vocabulary, the child can learn to use his/her new language practically through the Learning Goals.

Learning Goals: Each learning goal is a key language tool for expression. By focusing on a learning goal rather than on a list of vocabulary words each week, the child learns structures, sentences, and common phrases that allow him/her to use the language to express him/herself. Examples of Learning Goals are expressing likes and dislikes, describing things, or expressing possession.
