Courtney Glantz (January 22, 2012) - We have had a few exciting changes in the last few months in our household. The three amigos it will be no more - my husband and I have a 2nd baby on the way!
Telling L was so exciting and so incredibly enjoyable. At over 5 years old, he completely understands what is going on and is even sensitive to the fact that I might need a quick afternoon snooze to grab some energy for the rest of the day. He tucks me in and leaves me be. Wow - how do women do this with a toddler...?
Coming up with a nickname for the baby has been fun and L's idea has won hands down. Out of the blue he asked what 'baby' is in Spanish to which I promptly googled on my blackberry to verify it was in fact bebe. I was right and told L. He sort of giggled and it stuck. 'El bebe' it is!
Now we are out and about and he feels the need to tell the Target check out lady - the mailman - pretty much anyone that will give him an excited reaction over it all. Hearing him explain it and then throw out his bilingual touch by using 'el bebe' is just too cute.
I asked him if he would be teaching his baby brother/sister Spanish to which he proceeded to say he should probably learn English first. I explained that the baby could learn both at the same time to which he replied 'one thing at a time mom.'
Ok, that's valid L.
Adios,
Courtney
