Only 1 in 50 applicants becomes a Language Stars teacher. Teachers are chosen for their experience in educating children and for their enthusiasm and ability to teach dynamic, engaging classes. Language Stars provides each teacher extensive training before they teach their first class.

Our Curriculum is Our Own - Developed Over 14 Years

We teach children new languages the same way they learn their first language.  Language Stars' FunImmersion^® method maximizes fun in a full immersion setting. 

Additionally, a typical class has 4-8 students with a maximum of 8, so you can be assured that your child is getting the attention (s)he needs to learn effectively.

Our dynamic, native-speaking teachers immerse children entirely in the target language through a high-energy mix of games, projects, music & movement, treasure hunts and more that have been designed to promote learning and fun.  Our curriculum has been carefully developed and refined by a team of expert linguists and educators and is aligned with state and national standards.

The Flexibility You Need

We know how busy parents are today - so we developed all our programs to help fit into your lifestyle.  We offer a free trial classto get started so you can see FunImmersion^® in action before making a decision. Once you enroll your child, we offer discounts for multiple programs or languages, siblings, or pre-payment.  If you need to miss a class, just let us know in advance and we will schedule a make-up free of charge.  If you need to stop the program for any reason, let us know, and we will refund any unused tuition after notice of cancellation. 

Our Leader is a Believer

When she was younger, Leslie Lancry, founder of Language Stars, pursued her love of language.  So by the age of 21, she was already fluent in French, Russian and Spanish, conversant in German and Japanese, and had gained invaluable experience teaching foreign languages to kids and adults alike. Lancry earned her undergraduate and MBA degrees at Harvard University and took that wealth of knowledge with her to Bain & Company in France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and the U.S. After that she joined Disney Consumer Products in Europe as Manager of Strategic Planning.

Following her corporate stints around the globe, Lancry turned her attention back to her true passion, bringing multilingual education to as many American children as possible. Through her research, she came to believe in the "Window of Opportunity" for young children to learn a foreign language easily, and she committed herself to fostering a future generation of multilingual Americans by focusing on young children through Language Stars.

Leslie currently resides in Chicago with her multilingual husband and her two multilingual children.
