It's difficult to imagine a language more tied to culture and cultivation than French. With 120 million speakers worldwide, French is one of the six official languages of the United Nations, one of the three official languages of the European Commission, and is spoken on every continent.

 

French is the second most studied language in the world after English. And looking ahead to future career opportunities, 2,800 French companies in the U.S. employ approximately 550,000 Americans. Similarly, U.S. companies employ nearly 650,000 people in France. Among foreign countries doing business in the U.S., France employs the third largest number of Americans.
