Middle School Programs

Language Stars provides quality middle school classes by combining our proven FunImmersion® methodology with established textbooks to prepare middle school students for advanced high school placement.

As in all our programs, teachers use only the target language. They support comprehension and reinforce key vocabulary and phrases with dramatic gestures and facial expressions, simple visuals, clear, consistent language, focused repetition, and active, hands-on learning tasks.

Our Spanish curriculum for 6th-8th grade is organized around the Spanish textbook Realidades, used by many middle and high schools around the country. The introduction of a textbook at this stage of learning is designed to prepare students to transition smoothly into high school language programs, balancing development of active communication skills with more purposeful reading and writing practice.

  realidades

The Realidades curriculum includes a textbook, a workbook, video clips and audio listening exercises.  Language Stars also incorporates ¿Qué Tal? a Spanish magazine designed for middle school language learners to reinforce reading and writing skills based on current topics of interest (sports, entertainment, etc.).

After engaging in hands-on learning tasks in class, students complete regular homework assignments, using the Realidades workbook.  These assignments provide reinforcement for the classroom learning and allow parents to follow along with their student’s program.

Student progress is monitored with regular in-class tasks and quizzes, and is reported to parents with regular unit summaries.

From Our Schools...
"Language Stars at Prescott has offered parents a convenient way to expose children to another language. Through Language Stars at Prescott, parents are able to immerse their children in a multi-cultural setting and prepare them for a globalized economy. Our students enjoy the hands-on, interactive learning, and parents consistently tell me that they are excited about their children learning another language."
