Language Stars is pleased to offer a workbook for our 8-10 year old learners!

While we always remain focused on developing speaking and listening skills at Language Stars, we also include beginning reading and writing in the second language in our 8-10 year old classes. Our 8-10 Workbook has been designed to introduce reading and writing in the target language, while reinforcing key weekly Learning Goals. Students will follow the main character, Cicele, in her routines, daily life experiences, and interactions with others as they practice key vocabulary and structures on each page.

The workbook is divided into two sections:

Fun in (German) At Language Stars
These pages, designated with a stamp at the top, will be completed as part of the FunImmersion® experience in the classroom. Teachers will lead students through activities on each page that reinforce the weekly Learning Goal and key vocabulary. Feel free to review these pages with your child at home to follow along with his/her learning!

Fun in (German) At Home
These pages, designated with a house at the top, provide additional reinforcement opportunities at home, and allow parents to follow (and join!) in the learning and fun. Each Fun in (German) At Home sheet includes a quick review exercise and an extra credit section that prompts students and their families to try something new in the target language, such as visiting a (German) restaurant or planning a fantasy family vacation to (Germany)! Students will receive “Passport Stamps” for each completed weekly At Home page, and at the end of the season, students can turn in their points for prizes!

Please note that all At Home activities, while encouraged, are entirely optional! We do not require homework, but we do strive to provide regular reinforcement opportunities and ideas for those who want them.
