About us
More than 20,000 taught since 1998

Language Stars Center DirectorsSince 1998, Language Stars has provided fun and interactive world language instruction to help children become global citizens. It’s easier for children to learn a second language and to mimic authentic accents because their brains are constantly developing. That’s why Language Stars offers a variety of youth-focused classes, including Parents and Tots (ages 1-3) and Kids Only (ages 3-5, 5-8, 8-10, 10-12). In addition to dynamic classes at our centers, we also offer At School programs that extend foreign language classes into the classroom.

With locations in Chicago and surrounding suburbs, as well as the Metro DC area, Language Stars uses FunImmersion® to teach students Spanish, Mandarin, French, German, Italian and Arabic. This engaging teaching style, taught by our native-speaking teachers, blends finely crafted curriculum with fun activities, songs, and games to create a dynamic learning environment.

Mission

To revolutionize how and when American children learn foreign languages to foster a future generation of multilingual and multicultural Americans.

Our founder

Language Stars founderLeslie Lancry first discovered her passion for languages at the age of 11 when she became a pen pal with a friend in France. At the age of 17, Leslie organized a backyard summer camp to teach French to four-year-old children in her suburban Chicago neighborhood. Her love for teaching languages continued at Harvard University as she focused on developing an international business career that culminated in founding Language Stars in 1998. Leslie remains actively involved serving on our Board of Directors.
